A Meme By Any Other Name
Sometimes, I feel a bit like a juggler … trying to keep too many balls in the air. A week, maybe two, go by, and I think that it was only yesterday that I put up a post … or well, maybe the day before yesterday; I’m almost always shocked to discover how long it’s actually been. I’ve got a load of posts in mind which I’d really like to write, but it’s been so hard to find the time.
I want to apologize to my dear friends (here and here) who keep trying to draw me back into blogging by feeding me Memes … only they know how far behind I’ve gotten in trying to keep up with them all.
Dear sweet Cathy meme’d me in the beginning of September, and I’m just now getting around to doing something with it. Here are the rules:
What’s in a name?
1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.
2. Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.
3. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog-post containing your own middle name game facts
.4. At the end of your blog-post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
Cathy has a nice middle name … short and sweet: Lynn. Her post looks great! However, I’m from Franco American stock (French Canadian immigrants to the US,) and my middle moniker is easily longer than my first and last names together! Folks, this is gonna take a minute … *cough*
My middle name is Jeannine-Marie … after my Godmother (Jeannine, née Thériault.) The second part of my middle name, Marie, is traditional … my mother was Anne-Marie, I’m Jeannine-Marie, and my daughter is Nataine-Marie. People from my parents’ generation, and my own, almost all had some variant of Marie or Joseph as part of their middle name, if it wasn’t already their first name.
Okay … without further ado … here goes …
1) J In several different MUD games, I’m known as either Jubilee or Judicą. Both of those characters are “immortals,” or “GMs,” and are known for the original playing areas they’ve created.
2) E - I think that almost anything is Easier than math! I flunked Every math courses in High School but Geometry. However, I redeemed myself in college last year by getting a nearly perfect score in Algebra. My HS teaches would never believe it! (Even I don’t believe it!)
3) A - I was once a hippy on the streets of Atlanta. Peace, man! We traveled Across the country in a van, and had an awful Adventure on the Mexican border. Hmm … that might make good blog fodder … ;o)
4) N - I once began writing a fantasy/sci fi Novel, which I named Jardin. I stopped when I was less than 2 chapters from the end of Volume 1, although I had the entire trilogy outlined in advance.
5) N - I have a very low tolerance for Noise, and I seem to be getting worse as I age. I think it’s due to my otosclerosis.
6) I - I spent some time in Great Lakes, Illinois as a younger woman. I was on the last passenger train trip between Milwaukee and North Chicago … when we got off the train that night, they retired that route.
7) N - Until my late teens, I always wanted to become a Nun … but I got over it … *cough*
9) - - I think that men in uniform are simply —ing ;o)
10) M - I’ve written reams of Music in the past, some of which is still sung by certain religious groups in New England.
11) A - My favorite place to be is on a quiet little lake in Acton, Maine.
12) R - I Regret that I wasn’t able to have more children. I wanted another daughter very badly, but it wasn’t meant to be.
13) I - Of all the countries I’ve ever visited, Israel is my favorite, and India is where I want to visit next.
14) E - I would give Everything I own (plus some) to leave New England and move back down south …
That’s it! I did it! And those of you who are still awake get a medal!
And now, I’m not going to tag anyone … I mean, come on, people! I’d have to tag over a dozen of you! *blink* If you like the meme, consider yourself poked at!
Also … I’m going to have to put a moratorium on accepting MEMEs, for at least a little while. I would really like to have time to work on other posts, and but I’m always so far behind with the MEMEs that I can’t get beyond them. Please forgive me … I don’t mean to be a spoilsport. Once I’m caught up again, I’ll declare the moratorium over by launching an original MEME at a load of you … so look out! ;o)

Oh My is right! If my middle name had 14 letters in it I would have never done this meme. But, your name is beautiful Moof. I like it alot. Also you did a great job.
Do you still have that sci fi novel? If so, maybe you can finish it one day?
I agree with you, I am also about burnt out on Meme’s right now. I have recently been able to update my blog only about once a week.
Thank you my friend for being a good sport and playing along!

Very interesting Moof. We appreciate that you have such a long second name because then we get to know more about you!
So why are you in New England? A very cold part of the country indeed.

Cathy, I think I still have Jardin, including notes, tucked away someplace. I’m sure that by now, the pencil scratchings are quite faded. I had a few people reading it as I was writing, and they were not happy with me when I had to quit. Heck, I wasn’t happy with me when I had to quit.
To answer your question, I don’t believe I’ll ever finish it. At the time, I stopped writing it for religious reasons … and now, if I were to take the time to write a book, it would be because I have plenty to say - so it wouldn’t be a fiction.

JMB, the short answer is that I’m New England because I have no other choice. The longer answer … is well beyond the scope of this little comment.
Suffice it to say that if either my husband or myself could find employment elsewhere which paid well enough to allow us to move, and which included good medical benefits, I would leave New England in a heartbeat, and I don’t think I’d ever look back.
I would, however, want to kidnap my Mom-in-Law and drag her along with us. I’d miss her something awful otherwise.
