Bitacle Button Code
Those of you who want to use the Stop Bitacle buttons but weren’t able to make them work … it’s because the original web site is using an odd font which has another ASCII value in place of the ” quote symbol, or because your own blog software is translating the copied/pasted ” quote symbol into some other ASCII symbol, like perhaps the left quote and right quote symbols. Your browser won’t interpret those in the same way.
Cut and paste this instead …
<center>
<font color=”#0000c0″ size=”+1″><strong><em>Defend your blog from theft!</em></strong></font><a href="http://stopbitacleorg.wordpress.com/"><img src="http://moof.blogsplot.net/wp-images/paremosabitacleorgdosey1.png" alt="Paremos a bitacle org" width="150" height="30" border="0" /></a> <a href="http://stopbitacleorg.wordpress.com/"><img src="http://moof.blogsplot.net/wp-images/stopbitacleorgredzv4.png" alt="Stop bitacle org" width="150" height="30" border="0" /></a>
</center>
If it still doesn’t work, substitute each and every ” with the regular ” symbol (shift ‘ on most keyboards,) and save it again.
If you know how to copy the buttons to your own server, and change the image address in the code accordingly, please do so. If you don’t – then don’t worry about it. It’s worth it! I promise to not substitute the graphic on you! >;o)
If your cut/paste doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll do my best to trouble shoot for you!

I’m just a “slimy mollusc,” so no one is stealing my blog content. Hmmm, I wonder how long I’ll even remain a slimy mollusc . . .

Moof, thanks for your comment. I think all people have their special niches of knowledge. medicine is no more difficult to learn than any other special field. i’m always amazed at what people know – from how to raise good children, to how to differentiate wines, to how to cultivate a productive garden. even this blogging business! reading your post (what i could understand of it! :]) made my eyes glaze over… have no idea how you ever learned all these tips and tricks on coding/blogging!!

Thanks, Moof. I am a victim of this whole thing as well…just disgusting really.
Anyay, thanks too for the code for the button. I tried to do it from their website and I had difficulty. Yours worked just great, though! Thanks.

Moof, I used to have a copyright button which I posted for only a month or less. Your explanation is true. While I quote news articles, it becomes a problem when I copyright protect my page because it will pick up the quoted article and it’s a hassle cuz they own the original one and I’m just quoting.
I wanted to apply this button to our Story meme. Remember we have all links under our story? I’m not sure if it’s going to pick it up, I wanted to put this in. And I’ve found out that there are several serious writers from the Story Meme. I hope they’ll use this to preven other from plagiarizing their stories.
How do I protect some pages from being tracked and if you type your URL in google there are some unknown links that I dont want to be associated with.
You know I have smorgasborg topics in my blog right? After posting that beijing penis emporium, one blog owner (a dot com)emailed me, proposing a collaboration. When I told him/her that I don’t want to be associated with porn sites, the person emailed me saying I hurt his/her feelings saying that their site isn’t one. Be the judge => blahblah.sextoys.com hahahahaha.
going back to your topic, help me with this button I want to post on my Story Meme page. Thanks. Very informative post you have.
Cheers.xxx.com :)

Hey Moof…
Geesh…
I’ve had my head buried in my books…
Decided to come and “visit”, and what do I find?
A ruffled Moofie!
I don’t guess I have been bit by the blog thief? It’s hard to say.
I sure do hope that you get your bandwidth back.
I listened to your recording for the music thieves…
And I have to say…
You have a very nice voice Moof!
later…

WV … if I make a mistake on here, the worst that happens is my blog won’t load – or it will look funny. I think that if the only thing that happened when physicians made mistakes is that patients were suddenly funny looking, then you all wouldn’t have quite as much pressure on you! *LOL*

Hey Pattie! I’ve discovered that everyone who has Blogger is having no problem with the cut/paste … it’s only those who have Word Press who’ve had trouble so far … and it’s because WP copes/pastes the fancy ” quote symbols. HTML doesn’t recognize those as command delimiters. Glad they worked for you!

Ipanema, if you’re asking about posting the stories in spite of their not being “yours” and people having Creative Commons copyrights, I wouldn’t worry about it. I know that I personally will not mind having my own included with the lot, and I don’t believe any of us would, as long as our names are included. I could be mistaken, I guess …

“a ruffled moofie” … *LOL* … that sounds like some sort of little migratory bird or something! ;o)
The way to see if you’ve been bitten by a blog thief is to go over there and select Agregates, and search on keywords that you have on your blog – or even post titles. An amazing number of us are on there …
