All Blogged Up: A Moof’s Tale

What Do You See?

Dr. Scan Man and Arunn have been posting optical illusions … and of course, being a terrible copy cat, I had to do the same thing … only I’m posting a different type.

Let me know what you see here:

cosmos

When I first became acquainted with these, my kids were all teen agers. They would all tell me “I see a blanketey blank” … and I thought that they had all agreed ahead of time on what they would say … like some elaborate joke to make Moofie feel as if she’d lost her mind … as if I needed that sort of thing to begin with! 0.o

One day, I just got so tired of trying to see what they all were telling me that they saw that I just stared at a stereogram picture until my eyes lost their focus, and I was just “fuzzing out.” Suddenly, a very clear, 3 dimensional picture appeared before my eyes … blowing me away! I was shocked that there really was an image there, hidden in the graphics.

Those of you who aren’t familiar with these … let your eyes lose their focus, continuing to stare at the picture. A three dimensional object will appear in the middle of the graphic. Another method is to cross your eyes … although that one does not work for me, it’s the only way my son, Dougie, can interpret these.

Let me know if you like these. I have megs of them on my computer, and I’d love a chance to share them! :o)

And now, it’s almost 12:30 AM here, and i have to hit the sack. I have company coming tomorrow. I’ll take pics and post them! I wish you all a good night … a peaceful sleep … and dreams that make the sleep worthwhile!

I see like a star shaped thing thing. Not really sure how to describe it.

  2. Pattie UNITED STATES Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

I see a seven sided cone shaped star coming out at me….I must admit, I like these things. I find the few minutes it takes staring at the screen waiting for the image to materialize is actually quite relaxing! :)

  3. scan man INDIA Mac OS X Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.6 Says:

mmmm.. my star shaped cone-like divergent thingy has eight sides…

  4. Peggikaye UNITED STATES Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

my stupid MG interferes … my eyes start to go crosseyed, then won’t uncross.

The old saying of “don’t do that or your eyes will stay that way!” happens to be true of me. *pout*

  5. Andy Fragen UNITED STATES Mac OS X Netscape Navigator 5.0 Says:

    Funky Xmas tree from overhead.

  6. OrthoDoc INDIA Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.4 Says:

I see a star that is pointing towards the surface of the screen. I think I am good with stereograms. But I failed miserably with scanman’s cow. Mooooooo….

  7. It's me, T.J. UNITED STATES Windows 98 Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

A horizontal interwoven bric-a-brac type of pattern. Two full rows of them crossing the middle with a partial at the top and at the bottom.

The dots are repetitive across the entire image. The pattern is mirrored by a dark pattern. The dark looks more like a diamond shape with a green dot in the middle of each one.

    later…

  8. Lakshmi INDIA Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.6 Says:

I am hopeless Moof ! I simply CANNOT see anything other than dots.. like stars on a midsummer sky. And same with any such optical games. Tried fading out, tried cross-eyeing.. nope ! Not a hope !

  9. Cathy UNITED STATES Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.6 Says:

I can’t see anything but all those nice dots. I have stared at it for atleast 10 minutes until my eyes went crosseyed all by themself and still nothing. I’m not good at this Moff. Goodness that two faced cat I posted a week or so again I had to study for awhile to find his other face. I’m Pathetic!!

  10. Wm H UNITED STATES Windows XP Internet Explorer 6.0 Says:

I tried it with my glass’s on and with them off.

With glass’s: the face of Christ from the Shroud of Turan.

Without Glass’s: Cynthia McKinney dancing a line dance to the hampster song.

  11. Arunn INDIA Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.6 Says:

I see the frustum of a star cross-sectional cone laid in a coordinate that starts at the surface of the computer screen and grows into the depth of the screen.

As a 3 dimensional picture, the larger star surface with the seven crests is at the fore-front, with the seven crests meeting in a far off smaller star with seven crests, placed at a distance going into the computer screen - the depth of the picture.

I would agree with Pattie (and not scan man…who always seems to have difficulty in adding, like he did in another post of mine…;) (Scan Man, you will have your chance later on, to pull mine)

BTW, if any of you are interested, the post where I presented an optical illusion is here.

  12. Moof Windows XP Mozilla Firefox 1.5.0.6 Says:

Arunn … you’re picking on poor Scan Man! ;o)

If you are seeing a segmented star, you’re not seeing the full sized picture. It’s 600px across. If your browser is changing the picture size, it will produce some odd results.
