Here Comes That Rainy Day Feeling Again

Eric over on Clubis says:
“Monday morning brought with it a deluge of ideas and (more pertinently) of water. The New England torrents hit us hard and close. The river just by our house rose several feet and flooded our road, which forced emergency personal to issue a mandatory evacuation of our area.”
He also got a glimpse of a rather fetching young lady … *cough* … but that’s another story. ;o)
I hate to tell him this — and frankly, I hate to think about it too, but we have flood warnings again … here’s what the Emergency Weather Service sent me tonight:

Moof,
Wow, I think enough is enough. I am so sorry you all are still dealing with that up there. Have you been affected?
On a less serious note, I LOVE this cartoon!!!! It actually made me laugh out loud this morning. Thanks for making my day! :)

Hey Pattie! Thanks for dropping in! :o)
Well, our basement is wet! *LOL* But it’s a dirt basement, and part of an ancient stone foundation … so, it’s gonna be wet even when we’re in a darn drought!
But Eric - my little buddy over at Clubis - stands a chance of being evacuated again, methinks. There’s still a town (Newmarket) between here and my husband’s work that is impassable, however I believe that the residents are no longer completely water-locked.
Pain in the posterior … *rolls eyes*
Nothing like what our friend Dr. Hebert went through though. If it weren’t for thinking about Katrina, we’d all be feeling mighty sorry for ourselves right now.

Wow Moof, so much rain. Wish you could send some of it our way. Its so hot in Chennai right now! A few clouds gathered in the evening but were gone in a few minutes.
Does it usually rain at your place at this time of the year? Here we are going through a hot summer.

On the other hand, it is bright and warm out here. But, seriously I have read about the plight in your part of the world. The problem with weather is you can do nothing about it. Thanks for visiting my blog, by the way, and please come back any time, as I will here.

OrthoDoc! Thank you for visiting! My dear - I would gladly share the rain and cold temperatures with you!
About the rain - this is our springtime, and we usually get rain April … which here in the NorthEast, if before we have leaves on the trees … and we even occasionally still have snow. However, by mid May, things are turning green, and the sun usually begins to shine and warm up our poor cold bones! ;o)
We’ve had some c-c-c-cold springs in the last few years …
Ian … thank you visiting me and leaving a comment! And sir, you’re very right - we are not able to control the weather! More’s the pity! If we were, it would be bright sunshine, in the 80’s … nary a cloud i the sky! *LOL*
You can count on my frequent visits to your blog, which I enjoy tremendously. I have you blogrolled, and am following your RSS through Bloglines.
And you, of course, are welcome to my humble blog any time! :o)
