Dropping In …

December 31st, 2005

I’ve been so busy raising the dickens on other people’s blogs that I’ve barely had time for my own! *evil snicker* >:-)

Actually, I’ve been engaged in several different “conversations,” some on this blog, some on other blogs, and some by email … bad news! You should see the pile of dishes in the sink which have become sentient and have developed grandiose dreams of conquering the entire room!

Ongoing public conversations which are reflected on this blog are the Euthanasia conversation between Dr. Chris Rangel of Rangel MD, Dr. Crippen of NHS Blog Doctor and myself. Dr. Rangel posted a very cogent argument yesterday, and I hope to add it to the Assisted Suicide page tonight. If you want to see the posts on Dr. Rangel’s blog, the first post is: Rangel on Assisted Suicide - with 12 comments, and Part II: Q&A on Assisted Suicide - and the comments on that one are only just beginning to sprout.

A second conversation is between a physician who calls himself “ND,” T.J. of Dogs Cats Kids Life and myself, on faith, reality, trust, God, belief … you name it. They gave me such wonderful arguments that I’m still trying to decide what to reply! You can find that ongoing conversation in the comments on the Doctors Who Pray post, and on the “Reality - and much more” page.

Those interested in a chance to have their say about the question of abortion should scoot over to Dr. Crippen’s blog and take a look at his latest post: “A Serious Thought for the New Year.”

And finally, those of you who have ideas about immortality (”There can be only one!!! ;) should take a look at Dr. Maurice Bernstein’s Bioethics Discussion Blog. There are two very interesting posts: ” Immorality,Immortality: Just One Letter Apart or Something More?” and “Do You Really Want the Longevity of Methuselah and Beyond?“… Dr. Bernstein has some very interesting information there.

Added a Chat!

December 30th, 2005

Added a chat room on a whim this morning … it can be accessed by the Chat button just below the header picture.

Not sure I’ll leave it there … but it seemed like fun for now. Drop in and see if anyone’s on! :)

Second Update Today - Reality

December 29th, 2005

It’s Me, T.J. has added her thoughts to the ongoing discussion on Faith, God … Prayer … finding God …

Also - I’ve added my own thought’s to ND’s last comment.

The conversation is very interesting - very engaging. If you’re a praying person - or on a search - don’t miss it.

Firefox VS IE

December 29th, 2005

I’ve just downloaded a very nice extension for my Firefox browser … it’s called IE Tab, and it allows me to see web pages in IE without actually running it. Nice, huh? That will allow me to do all of school work in Firefox this term - since some of the labs won’t load after checking to see if you’re using something other than IE.

However, since I have this nice new tab option … I just had to try it out. *sigh*

I looked at my blog in IE … and screamed! Augh! The header is all messed up! The border on the posts is all wrong! It looks terrible! *blink!*

However, in Firefox … it’s perfect! Everything is centered … the borders are pretty …

After diddling with the CSS for a while, I’ve realized that short of rewriting the entire theme for both browsers … ( and I haven’t even checked any of the other browsers yet!) … my blog theme is just plain going to look terrible in IE!

Considering a new theme … but then I’d have to give up my pretty header pictures.

Choices … choices … ;-)

Reality … and Thought

December 29th, 2005

“[…] if an autrocity occurs , does that argue against the existence of a loving God? intellectually many responses will be plausible. many responses will be clever and contradictory. so much for intellect as a tool to find God.”

Just a sample from the ongoing conversation with ND. This fellow has some intensely interesting concepts. What started out as an “engaging conversation” is becoming quite a bit more than that …

… and it continues … so, if you would like some serious meditations to carry you through your day, take a look.

I hope to have time to add my thoughts to ND’s latest reply, but won’t be doing so until I’ve had time to take in everything he’s said … and there’s quite a bit.
